COVID-19 fatalities primarily at long-term care facilities; 22 deaths now reported

The numbers keep going up.
The death toll from the COVID-19 outbreak in Iowa has reached 22 after 8 additional people were confirmed fatalities by the Iowa Department of Public Health on Sunday.
It was the deadliest day since the outbreak began.
Analysis from the IDPH indicated that over 40% of all deaths are associated with outbreaks in long-term care facilities. Additionally, over 10 percent of the positive cases in the state are occurring among long-term care staff and residents.
83 new positive cases were identified, with the most in Linn County. They added 22 yesterday, and have the most total cases with 161. Polk County added 13 for a total of 122, and Johnson County added 10 for a total of 106. They are the only three of 81 counties that have positive cases in the triple digits.
An additional 519 negative tests for COVID-19 were reported, bringing the total to 9973.
The latest projection from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation from the University of Washington says the peak of the virus outbreak will be on April 26, and total deaths by August 4th has been reduced to 420.
