ICPD responds to three separate shots fired calls Monday night

Iowa City Police responded to three separate reports of shots fired Monday night.

The first incident occurred just after 6pm on the 1000 block of Cross Park Avenue, with multiple callers reporting hearing gunshots being fired. Investigating officers located several shell casings near the street.

Just after 6:45pm officers responded to the 400 block of Hawaii Court after receiving multiple reports of gunshots in that area. Investigating officers located a vehicle with damage from gunshots, as well as shell casings in the parking lot.

Finally, just before 9:45pm, officers responded to the 2400 block of Shady Glen Court after receiving multiple reports of gunshots in that area. Investigating officers located a duplex with damage from gunshots, as well as shell casings in the parking lot.

No injuries were reported in any of the incidents. No arrests have been made, and the incidents are under investigation. It is unknown if the three incidents are related.

Iowa City Police are asking for the public’s help to identify anyone involved with these incidents. Anyone with information is urged to contact Sergeant Jerry Blomgren at 319-356-5276.
