A one-vehicle accident overnight in Cedar Rapids caused a road to be closed for several hours.
According to a media release from the CRPD, officers were dispatched to the accident at 1:30am Monday at Edgewood Road and Amanda Court Northwest. The vehicle reportedly struck a telephone pole, which was knocked down into traffic on Edgewood Road.
Authorities closed Edgewood Road between O Avenue and F Avenue to allow Alliant Energy technicians to replace the pole. The road was reopened at about 9:30am.
The accident remains under investigation.
