ICPD investigating more shots fired on Taylor Drive

Iowa City Police are investigating more reports of shots fired on Taylor Drive.

According to an ICPD news release, just after 3am Sunday officers responded to multiple reports of several gunshots being heard near the 2100 block of Taylor Drive. Responding officers located several shell casings in the street.

There have been no reports of injuries from the incident, and no arrests have been made.

Iowa City Police are asking for the public’s help to identify anyone involved with this incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact Sergeant Jerry Blomgren at 319-356-5276 or jerry-blomgren@iowa-city.org.

Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information about this incident, if an arrest is made. All tips and calls are held in strict confidence and anonymity is guaranteed. Individuals providing information are not required to reveal their identity to collect a reward.

This is the third report of shots fired on Taylor Drive in as many weeks. On the afternoon of February 19th, officers responded to multiple reports of several gunshots heard near Sandusky and Taylor Drives. Police discovered fresh damage, believed to be gunshot-related, to a vehicle and a nearby residence. The next morning around 6am police responded to reports of multiple gunshots heard in the area of Wetherby Park. Arriving officers located several shell casings in the park’s parking lot.
