Iowa City Police got a two-for-one when they arrested two different women in the same car for drunk driving.

Arrest records indicate an officer observed a white 2016 Chevy Malibu with its lights off about to leave the Capitol Street parking ramp just before 2:15am Friday. The vehicle stopped abruptly at the exit, reversed, and pulled into a parking spot. The officer then observed the driver, later identified as 21-year-old Veronica Griffin of Cherry Hill Road in Cedar Rapids, jump from the driver’s seat into the back seat while another passenger, later identified as 21-year-old University of Iowa student Raimee Dossett of South Madison Street, jump across the center console and into the driver’s seat.

Both women reportedly showed multiple signs of intoxication when confronted by police. Griffin had a blood alcohol content of .137%, while Dossett’s BAC was measured at .226%.

Both women were arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated – 2nd Offense.
