A Red Oak Iowa man has been arrested after being accused of burglarizing a dozen offices at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Arrest reports indicate that 45-year old Stuart Sellars of North 8th Street in Red Oak entered a closed office suite at the hospital with no right, reason or permission to be there at approximately 3:30am on February 4th.  He is accused of stealing more than $12,000 in computer and office equipment, as well as personal items from twelve different offices in the suite.

A warrant was issued for Sellers’ arrest on February 5th; he was picked up Wednesday afternoon and taken to the Johnson County Jail. He’s been charged with one count of 1st Degree Theft, and 12 counts of 3rd degree Burglary. If convicted on all counts, Sellers could be sentenced to up to 70 years in prison.

Sellers also has been charged in Montgomery County with interference with official acts with Bodily Injury on the same day as the alleged UIHC incidents, a 2nd degree theft charge on February 5th, and Motor Vehicle Theft on February 6th. He was due to stand trial on those charges in April.
