Being an a-hole isn’t grounds for being arrested, unless you’re accused of rushing at officers during a disturbance. That’s what an Iowa City man found out last week.

According to police, they were called to the 800 block of Cross Park for a disturbance on February 10th at approximately 1:15pm. They were in the apartment of 41-year-old Jerald Navarre when he allegedly became upset and came towards officers in an aggressive manner.

Police say they warned Navarre twice to stay back, but he rushed towards them with his hands raised and had to be physically moved away.

Navarre reportedly apologized for his actions and allegedly admitted to being “an idiot” and “an a-hole.”

Navarre was charged with interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to 30 days.
