An early Saturday morning auto accident has led to an arrest on Interstate 80.
The accident happened just after midnight Saturday near the Dubuque Street exit. The Iowa State Patrol noticed that the driver of a Dodge Dart that was involved smelled strongly of alcohol. Iowa City Police also responded to the scene, and they, too, noticed that 19-year-old Jonathan Francisco smelled of ingested alcohol.
Police say Francisco also showed multiple signs of intoxication. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and provided a blood alcohol content of .119 on a portable Breathalyzer test and .115 on a Datamaster.
Francisco was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated.
