Wielding a power drill inside Shelter House has led to charges against a local transient.

Iowa City Police removed 52-year-old Daniel Sandoval-Flores from the Southgate Avenue facility three times on Tuesday. The first time he was banned for the day, and the second time he was banned for three days.

The third time Sandoval-Flores returned, he began waving a power drill. When police arrived, Sandoval-Flores was being walked out of the building by Shelter House staff. He no longer possessed the drill.

Sandoval-Flores showed multiple signs of intoxication, and was arrested for Public Intoxication and Trespassing. He was given credit for time served after spending 12 hours in jail.
