Iowa City Police say an officer was injured during a scuffle with a suspect last week.
According to arrest records, officers attempted to make contact with 18-year-old Andre Robertson, address unknown, outside the Pheasant Ridge Apartments on Bartelt Road just after 3:30pm on January 27th. Police say Robertson ignored multiple commands to stop, including looking back at the officers as they made the command, then turning and walking away.
Robertson was captured after a brief foot chase. He allegedly resisted handcuffing, refusing to put his arms behind his back. Robertson also allegedly struck an officer behind the ear, causing swelling, pain and discomfort.
Robertson was charged with Interference with Official Acts Causing Bodily Injury. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
