Coralville man arrested after alleged fight outside Union Bar

A Coralville man has been taken into custody after an alleged overnight fight in downtown Iowa City.

According to police, 30-year-old Arseno Silas of 20th Avenue Place as observed by a uniformed officer in a physical altercation out front of the Union Bar on East College Street at 1:20am Friday. When the officer identified himself, Silas ran from the officer and was taken into custody a short time later.

Police say Silas smelled of ingested alcohol, had slurred speech, and admitted to drinking. A post arrest PBT showed a blood-alcohol level of .142.

Silas was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct, public intoxication and interference with official acts. If convicted on all charges, he could be sentenced to 90 days in jail.
