Cedar Rapids police are investigating a robbery at Kennedy High where a student reported that she was robbed of her cellphone at gunpoint Monday afternoon.
A CRPD resource officer was informed of the incident shortly after 3:30pm.
According to the student, she was approached near her vehicle by a younger black male dressed in a black zippered hoodie, black jeans, black boots and a black baseball cap. The male displayed a handgun to the 18-year-old and robbed her of her cellphone.
No injuries were reported.
Police say surveillance video shows the suspect approached the school from the east and left the parking lot on foot.
Cedar Rapids Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call them at 319-286-5491 and said they will be increasing police presence at the school.
