The host cities have been announced for this year’s RAGBRAI, or the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa.
At a special event Saturday night, Des Moines Register officials announced overnight RAGBRAI stops in the cities of Le Mars, Storm Lake, Fort Dodge, Iowa Falls, Waterloo, Anamosa, Maquoketa, and Clinton. The announcement was streamed live on Facebook and on the RAGBRAI web site.
The exact route between the eight cities will be announced at a later date.
This year’s RAGBRAI is scheduled for July 19th through 25th. 2020 marks the first year RAGBRAI will compete with Iowa’s Ride, a rival ride across the state crated by former Register employees who quit last year to found their own event. Iowa’s Ride will be July 12th through 18th, the week before RAGBRAI, and travel east-to-west across the state.
