A California investment company has purchased the future site of an Iowa City Amazon distribution facility.

According to The Cedar Rapids Gazette, Tamshazon LLC of Carlsbad, CA, paid $13.4 million for the facility on Heinz Road, formerly the site of a Procter & Gamble distribution facility. The 26-acre property includes a more than 341,000 square foot building and an assessed value of $8.1 million.

Amazon had previously announced plans to use the facility mostly for warehouse storage with loading areas. Construction at the site is expected to be complete by May.
