An Iowa City woman who skipped a court date on a domestic abuse charge has now been charged in connection with a fight at her residence last year.

23-year-old Destiney Blount was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 2am Friday. According to court records, Blount failed to appear at a case management conference on a Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury charge last August. If convicted, she faces up to a year in jail.

An Interference with Official Acts charge against Blount was dropped in March in connection with an unrelated incident at her Taylor Drive home in 2018. Arrest records indicate police were called to the address just before 5pm on May 6th of that year for a large fight among people Blount had invited to the residence. Those records also indicate Blount is now charged with Disorderly House in connection with the incident. She faces a maximum of 30 days in jail, if convicted.
