If you ever need a light, a Coralville woman might be able to help after police say she stole an entire rack of lighters from an Iowa City convenience store.

Iowa City Police say 19-year-old Danielle Williams of 14th Avenue and a male companion entered DeliMart on Lower Muscatine Road around noon on December 17th. Security video shows Williams taking an entire rack of BIC lighters from the cashier’s area and concealing it under her jacket. She then left the store without paying.

Williams was confronted by investigators on December 22nd. She allegedly admitted to taking the lighters, and said the male who was with her had no knowledge of the theft.

The lighters were valued at $100.

Williams is charged with 5th Degree Theft. If convicted, she faces a maximum of 30 days in jail.

Her initial court appearance is set for January 15th.
