North Liberty Police have recovered a car they say was reported stolen from Indiana.

According to arrest records, late Wednesday night officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle that fled at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was later found parked in the Golfview Estates manufactured housing community. The Indiana plate was found to belong to a 2010 Chevy Impala, although the car found by North Liberty Police was a Chevy Malibu.

The vehicle was located again with its license plate removed just after 1am Thursday near 211 Golfview Court. It was determined the vehicle was stolen out of Indiana, and a witness said it belonged to the residents of 213 Golfview Court. One of the residents of that address, identified as 19-year-old Terrell Patterson of Indianapolis, allegedly admitted to removing the license plate. He claimed ownership of the vehicle, saying he bought it for $2,500.

Patterson is charged with 2nd Degree Theft, a Class D felony punishable by a maximum of five years in prison.
