A Hope House resident on probation for a series of crimes has been apprehended after failing to return to the facility nearly a month ago.
Police say that 26-year old Michael Vogel left Hope House at 5:47am September 27th for his job at ASI Custom Sheet Metal. He had a listed return time of no later than 6:30pm that day, but reports show that Vogel failed to return that night or any night thereafter, in violation of his probation.
He was at the facility due to probation on convictions of second-degree Burglary, two counts of third-degree Theft, and Operating a Vehicle Without Consent.
Officers located Vogel Friday and booked him into the Johnson County Jail on the additional charge of Voluntary Absence from Custody, a serious misdemeanor. If sentenced on all counts, Vogel could now face up to fifteen years in prison.
