An Iowa City transient has been arrested for a July incident where he allegedly stole a TV with help from a juvenile.
Police say that on July 21st, 19-year-old Dillon Kellerman entered the property of the victim, who was in jail at the time, and took his Samsung 4K television, pawning it at Money and More for $200. The value of the TV was $477. Kellerman split the $200 with the minor child who helped him with the robbery.
A third party got wind of the incident from either Kellerman or the child, and told the victim, who alerted authorities. An investigation determined that the theft occurred at the same time the victim was in jail, and Kellerman had no right or permission to be at the victim’s apartment.
Kellerman was located and taken into custody late Monday night and charged with 3rd degree Burglary and contributing to the delinquency of a minor child. If convicted on the charges, Kellerman could be sentenced to over five years in prison.
