Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden will be at two major Labor Day picnics in the area today.
Joined by his wife Jill, the frontrunner will be at this afternoon’s Cedar Rapids Hawkeye Area Labor Council Labor Day Picnic. Steve Bullock, Michael Bennett and Pete Buttegieg will also be attending.
The Bidens will also be at City Park for the Iowa City Federation of Labor Labor Day Picnic. Michael Bennett will be at that location as well.
Buttegieg will open his Iowa City field office at 23 South Gilbert Street this afternoon at 3.
Bernie Sanders is headed to Iowa City this Sunday as part of his college tailgate tour. He’ll be on the Old Capitol lawn starting at 5:30pm with live music and free pizza.
