A registered sex offender faces a pair of violations after allegedly failing to inform law enforcement about his whereabouts.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says it received information that 37-year-old Duain Goodwin had moved out of his listed address on Kountry Lane in Iowa City in May of 2011. Goodwin failed to inform law enforcement that he was moving, or the location of his new address.
Goodwin also allegedly failed to report for a scheduled in-person verification in April of 2011. He’s required to check in with the sheriff’s office in April and October of each year.
Goodwin is charged with a Sex Offender Registration Violation and a Sex Offender Verification Violation. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of four years in prison.
