An Iowa City woman and two men have been taken into custody early Tuesday morning after robbing a man and threatening his life.
Officers arrived at the site of the incident at around 3:30am in the 200 block of South Lucas Street. The man who called police said that 19-year-old Nyiesha Lawson of Wayne Avenue told him she was going to take everything he has. She was assisted by two men, who restrained the man while Lawson searched his person. They have been identified as 19-year-old Jeradin Jones of Esther Street and 20-year-old Javoni Butler of the Quarters Apartment Complex. The man reportedly felt cold steel against his head, and believed it to be a handgun. One of the two men threatened to blow the man’s head off.
The three got away with the man’s backpack and somewhere between $50 and $75 in cash.
All three were taken into custody and charged with Robbery in the second degree, a Class C Felony punishable by a prison sentence of up to ten years.
