Allegedly beating a woman who confronted him about damaging her car has led to an Iowa City man’s arrest.
According to Iowa City Police, the alleged victim confronted 29-year-old Robert Jones Junior of Clearwater Court just after 1:30am on July 27th because he was damaging her car parked on Bittersweet Court. Jones allegedly responded by knocking the woman down and punching her several times in the face.
The woman was hospitalized with facial fractures in the cheek area and below the eye. She also suffered bleeding and swelling.
The woman said she knew Jones and requested a no-contact order.
Jones was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 1am Saturday and charged with Assault Causing Serious Injury. If convicted, he faces a maximum of five years in prison.
