An Iowa City man was taken into custody after a search of his residence reportedly turned up marijuana.
Officers executed a residential search warrant on the Eastbook Street residence of 34-year-old Percy Williams on the evening of March 19th. Marijuana was allegedly located on the nightstand in his bedroom.
Police say there were items in the bedroom with Williams’ name on it, and they knew from previous search warrants that he lives at that location.
Williams has four previous drug convictions in Iowa, the most recent being in 2020 and 2021 in Johnson County. He was charged with marijuana possession third or subsequent, and keeping premises for controlled substances. He could be sentenced to up to four years in prison if convicted on both counts.
