Application window open for Johnson County youth paid summer internships

The application window is now open for the Youth Empowered to Serve, or YES program, benefitting the youth of Johnson County.

The program is an 8 week paid internship experience open to youth aged 14-18.  Participants gain hands-on experience with local employers, build real-life skills, and take part in weekly workshops on financial literacy, professionalism, and life readiness.

Workplaces participating in the YES program include the Iowa City Public Library, Johnson County Conservation, Grow Johnson County, Heyn’s Ice Cream.

The 2025 program runs June 17 – August 8. Applications are due by May 9.
