A Hills woman was arrested for her second OWI after an incident in a bar parking lot.

30-year old Erin Gifford allegedly drove to the Old 218 Tap Thursday at approximately 2:37am and called attention to herself by striking a curb in a parking space. She then reportedly got out of her vehicle quickly and started to look at a tire on the vehicle parked next to her.

Gifford alleged that she was there to fix the flat on the vehicle, despite the tire looking perfectly fine. She was observed with bloodshot watery eyes and slurred speech. Gifford had the odor of ingested alcohol and admitted to drinking earlier in the night, but denied driving.

After showing significant impairment on field sobriety tests, she refused a PBT but submitted to a Datamaster test showing her breath-alcohol level at .126 percent.

Gifford was charged with OWI second offense, and could be sentenced to up to two years in jail if convicted.
