A North Liberty man who allegedly stole an Iphone while working as a delivery driver was arrested last week during a traffic stop.
26-year-old Leroy Dix of Savannah Drive was located in Swisher Wednesday evening and stopped by a trooper for having improper rear lamps. A check of his driving record showed his status as barred through October 2026.
Further investigation determined that Dix was wanted for a theft charge stemming from his work as a delivery driver last December. On the 12th of that month, Dix was allegedly captured by a doorbell camera removing an Iphone 16 Pro Max from its packaging and concealing it in his clothing. He then reportedly put the empty box on the doorstep and left.
Dix was charged with Driving while Barred and 3rd degree Theft. He could be sentenced to up to 4 years in prison if convicted on both counts.
