The Oxford Fire Department has issued a special “thank you” to the person who brought pizza to firefighters helping fight a recent structure fire.
According to dispatch records, firefighters from Oxford, Tiffin, Williamsburg and Amana were called to 3207 210th Street just before 1:15 Monday afternoon. A shed was fully engulfed with propane tanks nearby. When all was said and done, about 40 acres of property was burned. There were no reported injuries, although Oxford EMS was called in to stand by.
Photos of the fire can be found on the Oxford Fire Department Facebook page.
A message posted to the same page on Saturday night thanked whoever brought pizza, water and candy bars to those who were fighting the blaze. The message also thanks whoever dropped snacks off at the Oxford fire station while crews were battling four different field fires in the area on Saturday.
