Johnson County Public Health’s HealthyJoCo has released its Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP), a community-driven strategy designed to build upon the strengths and assets of Johnson County.

Guided by its mission to evaluate, promote, and improve the health and well-being of those who live, work, learn, and play in Johnson County, HealthyJoCo’s CHIP provides a roadmap for collective action toward a healthier future.

The CHIP highlights four key health priorities—healthcare access, mental health, housing, and food security.  These priorities reflect HealthyJoCo’s shared vision of a diverse community where all people have the resources, access, and opportunity to thrive in a resilient, safe, and inclusive environment.

Jamie Gade is the Social Determinants of Health Coordinator for the County. She says, “Many of the goals and strategies in the plan build upon the incredible work already underway in these priority areas. Public health is excited to step into these areas to collaborate with new and existing partners to improve health across Johnson County.”

HealthyJoCo invites all community members to explore the CHIP and discover ways to get involved in shaping a healthier Johnson County. The full plan is available at www.healthyjoco.com.
