A Hope House resident is accused of escaping after law enforcement officers arrived to serve him a warrant.
34-year-old Olufemi Dehinbo was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 6:00 Saturday morning. The Iowa Department of Corrections says on the night of December 13th Dehinbo was in the back office at the Holiday Road facility when Coralville Police arrived with a warrant for his arrest out of Wisconsin. As Hope House officials were verifying the warrant, Dehinbo allegedly opened the west door of the office and fled. He sprinted to the northwest and was able to successfully evade pursuing officers.
Dehinbo is now charged with Escape From Custody. If convicted, he faces a maximum of five years in prison.
