The Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau is partnering with law enforcement across Iowa now through March 21 to remind drivers: Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving.

St. Patrick’s Day is one of our nation’s most popular holidays, celebrated with festivals, parades, and parties. The amount of alcohol consumed is higher than average. According to a recent report from the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, 20.5% of Iowans reported binge drinking in the past month – the national median is 15.2%. Last March, 26 people died in traffic crashes on Iowa roads; 38% of those involved impairment.

Through the Decide to Ride program, Doll Distributing is offering a $10 Uber voucher to encourage Iowans to plan ahead and make safe choices. THe Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau supports the effort by raising awareness. A link to the voucher is available below.
