The City of Iowa City’s construction project on Laura Drive has been extended due to Wednesday’s storm.
The city issued a news release on Wednesday indicating the end date of the project is now projected to be Friday, March 14th. It was originally scheduled to be completed this Friday.
Laura Drive was reduced to one lane of alternating traffic north of Haywood Drive last week. The lane reduction is facilitating the repair of a pipeline in the area.
As part of the work, the Iowa City Transit 6-Peninsula route will not offer service to Laura Drive, including stop #8082. Passengers looking to catch the Peninsula bus are encouraged to use stop #8078 on Foster Road at Dubuque Street. Transit service to Laura Drive is scheduled to resume on Saturday, March 15th.
