A Cedar Rapids man is accused of an early Wednesday morning robbery in Coralville.
According to arrest records, just before 1:00 Wednesday morning a woman was walking someone out of her residence at the Valley Forge Apartments on 9th Street when 22-year-old Obedi Bikorimana of C Avenue NW told her he had gone through her car. He then reportedly took her phone from her hand by force, breaking one of her fingernails in the process.
Bikorimana admitted to being outside the building and to speaking to the woman, but he denied taking her phone. He’s now charged with 2nd Degree Robbery. If convicted, Bikorimana faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
