A Coralville woman was taken into custody after it was discovered she had reportedly stolen from her employer.
29-year-old Delana Gale of 2nd Street was employed at the 1st Avenue Casey’s convenience store and allegedly would complete fraudulent cash returns. She would then reportedly load the amount of the returns on a Green Dot card. Gale also allegedly added funds to Green Dot cards without adding the corresponding cash to the register.
Casey’s Asset Protection discovered that Gale committed the alleged acts on June 28th and 30th, as well as July 3rd, 5th, 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th. Total estimated loss to the store reached nearly $360. When interviewed about the occurrences, Gale reportedly admitted to the thefts.
She has been charged with 4th degree Theft, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a jail term of up to a year if convicted.
