
Coralville’s Fiscal Year 2026 budget covers City operations and projects from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
Learn more about the City’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year at any of the following City Council meetings at Coralville City Hall, 1512 7th Street:
- Tuesday, March 25, at 6:00 pm: A property tax levy public hearing will be held as part of a special meeting.
- Tuesday, April 22 at 6:30 pm: The proposed budget will be presented to the public.
- Tuesday, April 22, at 6:30 pm: The public hearing for the proposed budget will be held and the City Council will vote on adopting the budget.
Once approved, the budget will be officially filed with the State and the Johnson County Auditor by April 30, 2025.
Budget Timeline
Each year, department heads begin the budget planning process in the fall and submit budget requests. Requests are reviewed, revenues are projected, and the City Council discusses the budget at public work sessions in January through March, followed by two public hearings, and a council vote on approving the budget in April.
How to Participate
Anyone is welcome to attend City Council meetings and participate in public hearings or speak during the designated community comments section of the meeting. Coralville City Council meetings are open to all individuals regardless of language spoken or disability. Any person requiring a reasonable accommodation to participate should contact the City Clerk’s office at 319.248.1700 or tjohnson@coralville.org at least two business days before the meeting. Or, submit written comments to the City Clerk’s office at 1512 7th Street, Coralville, Iowa, or by email at tjohnson@coralville.org no later than 5:00 pm on the day of the meeting.

Detailed information about the proposed budget will be published in the spring 2025 Connection magazine in late March, which will be mailed to all Coralville addresses and available at www.coralville.org/connection. The approved budget will be available at www.coralville.org/budget after it is filed with the State.
