The frigid temperatures this week have delayed a planned partial road closure in Iowa City.
Southgate Avenue was scheduled to be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic between Keokuk Street and Waterfront Drive as of Monday. However, city officials say due to weather conditions that work will now begin next Monday, February 24th, and continue until Thursday, February 27th.
This lane reduction will facilitate the replacement of a utility pole on Southgate Avenue. Flaggers will be on site directing traffic.
