Arrest made in September Iowa City car burglary case

Iowa City Police have made an arrest in a September burglary case.

The alleged victim reported their golf clubs valued at $2,500 were stolen from their car while it was parked at The Quarters on Highway 6 East on the night of September 30th. The unique clubs were pawned for $150 at Money & More in Waterloo two days later.

The person who allegedly sold the clubs has since been identified as 45-year-old Patrick Gerbyshak of Sycamore Street. Gerbyshack was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with 2nd Degree Theft. If convicted, he faces a maximum of five years in prison.
