A plea deal has been reached in the case of an Iowa City man accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old.
18-year-old Luis Borjas Flores allegedly engaged in sex acts with the girl last March. He was charged with 2nd Degree Sexual Abuse, which is punishable by a maximum of 25 years in prison. Borjas Flores was charged as an adult despite being 17 at the time of the incident.
Court records show on Tuesday Borjas Flores pleaded guilty to a lesser count of Lascivious Acts With a Minor. That charge carries a maximum sentence of ten years behind bars.
Sentencing is set for March 24th.
