Meet the candidates for the City Council special election; primary to be held Feb. 4

Meet the candidates.

With the special election to fill the City Council District C vacancy coming up Tuesday, City Channel 4 has created a “Meet the Candidates” series.

Featuring the two candidates vying for the open seat that serves through the end of 2027, the videos give each candidate a spotlight to voice their opinions on local issues. You can view the two videos, as well as the League of Women Voters candidate forum featuring the two candidates, at the City’s YouTube page.

Primary still scheduled for Feb. 4; special election March 4

Though a third candidate suspended their campaign, the Johnson County Auditor’s Office announced that the primary will still happen due to the fact that the candidate did not officially withdraw before the withdrawal deadline.

Only District C residents will be able to vote in the primary. To see a high-resolution map of the Council District, visit our online map. Precincts that will be open are: 3, 4, 5, 11, 19, 20, 21, 22, 25. To enter your address and find your precinct, visit, visit the Auditor’s website.
