ICPD releases photos of suspect in Sunday night armed robbery that led to HawkAlert

Iowa City Police have released photos of the suspect in an armed robbery that led to a University of Iowa HawkAlert late Sunday night.

Iowa City Police responded to the North Dubuque Street Casey’s just before 10:30 Sunday night for a report of an armed robbery that had occurred approximately 15-20 minutes earlier.

Following the robbery, the suspect walked north on Dubuque Street with an unknown amount of cash. The UI Department of Public Safety issued a HawkAlert about the incident just after 11:00.
The suspect is described as a male with scruffy facial hair and wearing a blue beanie and tan coat.

This incident is being actively investigated by the Iowa City Police Department and we are asking the public for assistance. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-5275. In addition, anyone in that area with security cameras is asked to review their recordings and contact the Iowa City Police Department with any potential footage or information about this incident.
