A University of Iowa student was arrested early Friday morning after allegedly passing out at his residence hall.
Police were called to Mayflower Hall just after 3:30am on reports of a resident passed out in the public hallway on the 7th floor. Upon arrival, it appeared that the student had urinated on the carpet before losing consciousness. Once the student was woken up, he reportedly was argumentative and uncooperative with officers.
The student was observed with bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, unsteady balance, and the odor of ingested alcohol. He refused a post-arrest PBT.
A search of his person reportedly found a fake driver’s license.
He was charged with public intoxication and possession of a fictitious ID and could be sentenced to up to 13 months in jail if convicted.
