A Marengo man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after allegedly committing traffic violations and being found under the influence.

An Iowa State Trooper pulled 41-year-old Brian Andrew over on eastbound Interstate 80 near mile marker 240 at 1:55pm for driving without a license plate and not wearing his seat belt. Upon contact, Andrew allegedly had the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person.  After reportedly showing measurable impairment on field sobriety tests, he consented to a PBT showing his breath-alcohol level at .205 percent.  A subsequent Datamaster showed the level at .180 percent.

Andrew was charged with OWI first offense, a serious misdemeanor.
