A student at Iowa State University is accused of encouraging users of a social media app to take photos of two female University of Iowa students without their knowledge and send them to him.
UI Police say last October 18-year-old Jack Erselius messaged images of two different women to a group of people on Kik while using the handle “goonboyy3433”. He allegedly asked the group to follow the women around campus and take “creep shots” of them, saying he was tracking their location through Snapchat. A “creep shot” is defined by the Oxford dictionary as “a sexually suggestive photograph taken of a woman in public without her knowledge.”
Search warrants to Kik and Google and a subpoena to Verizon indicated “goonboyy3433” was Erselius, who went to high school with the two women.
Erselius is charged with two counts of Solicitation to Commit a Felony. If convicted, he faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
