Fire damaged a vehicle and a garage near Swisher Tuesday afternoon.
Swisher and Fairfax firefighters were called to 5700 Linn Johnson Road, southwest of the Eastern Iowa Airport, just before 1:30 p.m. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says a resident of the home started a truck inside the garage, with the vehicle catching fire due to a mechanical issue. The driver backed the vehicle out of the garage, but not before the garage caught fire as well.
The truck was totaled, and the garage was heavily damaged. There were no reported injuries.
