A Shelter House resident was arrested Monday after allegedly assaulting a Downtown Iowa City Ambassador.
At around 7:35 am, one of those employed as an Ambassador reportedly took a photo of 41-year-old Heather Baker on the 200 block of South Clinton Street because she was allegedly harassing another employee.
Video surveillance of the area reportedly shows Baker becoming angry, shoving the victim down, and kicking her in the face. When interviewed, Baker admitted to also punching the victim, and stating that if she had a gun, she would have shot the woman.
The Ambassador had swelling and redness on her face.
Baker was taken into custody and charged with Assault with Intent to inflict Serious Injury, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to two years if convicted.
