Hawk Fanatic reports former Iowa offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz is traveling from coast to coast to rebuild his coaching career.

According to a report by Football Scoop, Brian Ferentz will be joining the Fresno State football coaching staff.

The son of Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz spent the 2024 season as an offensive analyst for Maryland.

Brian Ferentz was a member of his father’s coaching staff at Iowa from 2012 to 2023, including serving as the offensive coordinator from 2017 to 2023.

Brian Ferentz was fired with four games left in the 2023 season, but he was allowed to coach through the season.

Football Scoop reports that Brian Ferentz will serve as a top offensive assistant under new Fresno State head coach Matt Entz, (while other reports say that he will also coach tight ends)

Brian Ferentz, a former Iowa offensive lineman under his father, has coached multiple positions, including quarterbacks for Iowa in 2022 and 2023.

He also coached tight ends, running backs and the offensive line at Iowa, and was Iowa’s running game coordinator in 2015 and 2016.

Brian Ferentz also coached the tight ends for the New England Patriots in 2011.
