In celebration of Black History Month, the second annual Black History Ball will be held Saturday February 8th, presented by the Iowa City Senior Center’s Original Mature Groovers.
The event will be held at the Senior Center.
With a theme of the Elegance of the Harlem Renaissance, the night will showcase the cultural and artistic expression of African Americans in the 1920’s and 1930’s. The event will include live music, a fashion show, readings, art by local African American artists, food representing traditional African American dishes, and a silent auction of art, artifacts, and music.
