Two Johnson County non-profit organizations will benefit from a newly-announced award package from the Iowa Finance Authority.
The awards, which total nearly $10 million, will aid in housing development and supportive services for Iowans experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Over $4 million will go to Supportive Services; over $3.6 million to Housing Development and Support; over $900,000 to Nonprofit operating cost assistance, and nearly $1 million to Nonprofit capacity building assistance.
In the award summary, the Domestic Violence Intervention Program and Shelter House will each receive $150,000.

In a separate announcement, the Iowa Finance Authority awarded Shelter House over $343,000 and DVIP over $211,000 to assist with homelessness assistance initiatives, thanks to funding from the federal Emergency Solutions Grant and the state-funded Shelter Assistance Fund.
