A mobile home caught fire in Cedar Rapids Thursday night, with several pets perishing as a result.

Crews were dispatched to the 2900 block of Johnson Avenue NW at approximately 8:52pm when a neighbor reported a manufactured home was on fire. Arriving firefighters found heavy fire showing through the front of the residence. Occupants outside the home advised all persons were out of the structure, but several pets were still inside.
