A central Iowa man has finally been charged after he allegedly stole tires from a Coralville business in 2013.
According to arrest records, now-39-year-old Justin Sholley-Gonzalez of Ankeny walked into the Coralville Walmart on the morning of December 8th, 2013 and completed a work order for four new tires at the retailer’s tire and lube center. Sholley-Gonzalez was reportedly told by Walmart employees that their hoists would not work with his vehicle, so he offered to change the tires himself in the parking lot.
Once he was finished installing all four tires, Sholley-Gonzalez allegedly drove off without paying and did not return.
Sholley-Gonzalez, who has a lengthy criminal history in Polk County, was finally arrested on Monday and is now charged with 4th Degree Theft. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
